Suspect arrested after Texas DPS trooper and father of 3 killed The suspect in the fatal shooting of a Texas DPS trooper in Freestone County has been captured in Waller County near Prairie View. Texas DPS officials said trooper Damon Allen stopped Dabrett Black on the southbound lanes of I-45 near Fairfield for a traffic violation around 3:45 p.m. Thursday.
